Though Italy was definitely the favourite team in this match, these two teams were supposed to be the best teams in Group 3 of World Cup B.
Hungary started well taking profit of an Italian defensive error, but Italy fought back took the more control of the match the more it lasted. Though the score after 20 minutes was 3:1 for Italy, both teams were about even-strengthed.
Second half was cruel for Hungary. They started quite fair, but then completely broke down more and more and just could count the seconds in the period - and the goals they gave Italy by their bad matchplay. At the end, Italy shot eight ones in one period. Third period seemed to go on like this with Italy scoring twice in 42th minute, but Hungary impressingly showed great spirit and managed to make the third period an even one with 4-4 score.
Italy played impressive and controlled most of the game. Though Hungary looked to be defeated badly, they did a quite good job but in the second period.
